30-31
Atticus blames Jem for Bob's death but My Tate insists on calling it an accident. Although Boo stabbed my Ewell, Mr Tate wants everyone to forget the whole thing. Scout walks Boo to his house and goes inside, then never sees him again. She returns to Atticus read her a book, and falls asleep. This chapter was more mellow.
28-29
Summary:
In chapter 28, scout is in a pageant but ruins it by falling asleep, and on the way home they hear somebody behind them. Somebody attacks them and knocks Jem unconscious and tries to cut Scout. Then a man saves them and later it turns out it was Boo Radley. The man who attacked them turned out to be Bob Ewell. Scout tells everybody what happened and shows them the knifed costume. This chapter was filled with action.

Chapter 26-27
Bob Ewell gets a job then loses it, and he blames Atticus for "getting" his job. Judge Taylor at night hears something and it turns out his screen door was open and see's a shadow creeping away. Then Bob starts to follow Tom's wife around and Deas tells him to stop, and he does. But Aunt Alexandra points out that Bob seems to have a grudge against anybody connected to the trial.
Chapter 21-25 No. 2
Atticus is the only person not worried about Bob Ewell's threats. Tom is moved to another jail 70 miles away while he awaits his appeal. Atticus tells the kids that in the court of law a while man's word always beat a black man's word. It turns out one man wanted to say not guilty on the jury, a Cunningham. In August Scout is with Aunt Alexandria and her friends having tea when Atticus brings them out and tells them Tom tried to escape and was shot 17 times. When the town finds out Bob Ewell says "One down about 2 more to go".
Chap 21-25 No. 1
The children g o to eat dinner before they can here the verdict. When they come back it still hasn't been decided. When the jury comes out they don't look at Tom. They convict him guilty. The blacks of Maycomb bring the Finch family a lot of food for helping out. Jem believes that Maycomb's people aren't the best anymore. But he is told that some people are good, like Judge Taylor for appointing Atticus as the defender. Bob Ewell spit on Atticus and swore revenge.

Chapter- 13
Summary
Aunt Alexandria wants to stay with Scout and Jem for a while, to give them a feminine influence in the absence of their mom. The town gives her a welcome,baking her cakes and such. They become part of the towns social group and pride in the Finch name, but Scout and Jem lack the pride so Atticus has to tell them about ancestry, but it makes Scout cry.

Summary-
Jem turns twelve and demands Scout to behave like a lady now. Dill ca't come to Maycomb because he has a new father and even worse, Atticus has to go to the state every two weeks, so Calpurnia brings them to a African American church. When they get back home aunt Alexandria is there.

Summary-
Jem and Scout get the overall picture of Atticus's parenting style, he teaches moral values such as patience, responsibility and accountability. Jem gains in interest in football and the children have to read to Mrs. Dubose because Jem chops her plants, when she calls Atticus a N*****-Lover. At the end of the chapter Mrs. Dubose passes away.
